Sounds and Presets
GEOSynths Flux Vol.1 for Waldorf Quantum and Iridium
Waldorf has been quite busy these past few years, churning out quality hardware synth after quality hardware synth. At the top of this list has been the Waldorf Quantum, closely followed by the Iridium. With the Mk.2 Quantum, Waldorf introduced polyphonic aftertouch which, when combined with its powerful synth engine, delivers amazing expressive capabilities.
Jamie Morden, Blackpool-based sound designer, has recently rediscovered the Quantum and has now developed a bank of 50 new sounds for it and the Iridium. Flux Vol.1 explores all of the Quantum’s synth engines including wavetables, granular and FM.
The bank contains a raft of Jamie’s own samples too, gleaned from his collection of hardware synths and including sounds from the Moog One, Sub 37, Matriarch, the Arturia Polybrute and many more besides. He’s sampled raw oscillators on every key to create some pretty amazing patches.
Because of these multi-samples, you’re going to need 300MB of space on your Quantum to accommodate them. And don’t worry if you struggle with installing such banks. Jamie has created a specific installation video for this bank.

Synth Morph Arctic Shimmer for KORG opsix
KORG’s opsix introduced FM synthesis to a new generation when it was released in 2020. Since then it has been given the Mk.2 treatment, squeezed into a desktop/rackmount module and given room to breathe with the SE and SE Platinum versions.
As more people discover how awesome FM synthesis is, we are seeing more and more patch packs being made available and this new one from Synth Morph is pretty darned cool. Entitled ‘Arctic Shimmer’, we’re left in no doubt as to the sonic direction of this pack.
The pack includes 80 presets that will work across all of the opsix versions and come supplied in both voice formats for maximum compatibility. The pack also includes 15 morphing sequences in both MIDI and WAV format. Synth Morph tells us that using aftertouch and the mod wheel really expands the sounds in this bank!
