SPL Pre One

The Pre One is a versatile and nicely priced dual mic preamp and DI unit in a compact desktop format. If you’ve been using your audio interface as your front end, this is the perfect upgrade for more professional signal quality.

With a mic gain range of +8 to +62 dB and a dynamic range of 117 dB, you can expect great results when pairing with any mic to SPL Pre One, be it dynamic or condenser, modern or vintage.

All the basic features of a pro mic preamp are here, including a 6 dB per octave high-pass filter, polarity reversal, and individual phantom power switches. In addition, the 2nd channel has a hi-gain input for guitars and there are character settings for each preamp.

While the Flair mode introduces a high-frequency sheen, the Contour mode preserves the natural punch and character of your sound source.

SPL P8

If you’re looking to expand your inputs, the P8 is a great option for more professional setups with patch-bays and high-end converters. The 8 mic preamp channels have most of the same basic features as the Pre One, and you have the flexibility of digital connectivity with ADAT and word clock I/O.

Pro users will be thrilled with the inclusion of DB25 line outputs, and there is even a version of the P8 without the AD conversion stage and an extra DB25 output for added versatility.

Overall, the P8 is a great option for pro studios or adding high-quality preamps to your live rig. Also, the inclusion of a fully analogue version is a nice touch from SPL
