Stacking virtual instruments is something producers have done for decades, but now with the new Instrument Stacks, Cubase Pro and Artist users have a dedicated feature within the “Add Instrument Track” window. This allows you to load up multiple plugin instruments and control them simultaneously from a single MIDI track, which is a very neat workflow innovation.
Cubase has always been quite compartmentalized as far as settings and preferences go. So I’m sure you’ll be as thrilled as I am to know that Steinberg has finally centralized things, so crucial aspects like audio connections, preferences, and project setup are all accessible in the same Settings window.
In addition, both Pro and Artist users have access to. the new DrumChain processor. This flexible multi-effect combines compression, EQ, saturation, transient shaping, ambience, and sub-bass modules into one cohesive workflow for a one-stop drum processing platform that delivers punchy results. What’s more, there is a global mono filter control to keep the low-end central, as well as a limiter and clipper.
Another new feature for all Cubase versions is the VocalTouch plugin, which is a streamlined processor with single-knob controls for dynamics, EQ, delay, reverb, and saturation to help your vocals get record-ready in record time. Meanwhile, Pro and Artist users can enjoy the new Module FM library for HALion Sonic with over 200 patches including leads, basses, and textures.

Now im interested! Might crossover from Logic/ableton/Bitwig to one DAW, finally.
Cubase needs a makeover for the multithreading engine in Windows. It’s one of the most sluggish performing DAWs out there. Until then I’m not upgrading.
