Stone Deaf FX Rise & Shine – Fuzz Octave Tremolo/Vibrato
All new UK made effect pedal from Stone Deaf FX
The Stone Deaf FX Rise & Shine is the latest effect from the UK pedal maker and combines Fuzz Octave Tremolo and Vibrato. With various modes and a unique set of custom effects.
Stone Deaf FX Rise & Shine
The new Stone Deaf FX Rise & Shine is a digitally controlled analog pedal that offers a unique Fuzz Octave Tremolo/Vibrato effect. The UK company is known for making some fairly interesting pedals, many associated with QOTSA frontman Josh Homme, as he was an early adopter of their pedals.
Octapulse
Now, they are back with this all-new design and it offers a lot of effects with a relatively simple user interface and some nice external control options available. The Octapulse side of the effect is a rhythmic feature that blends both tremolo and vibrato effects and has a tap tempo with a load of built-in subdivisions available as well. Great for any rhythmic effects and fairly unique, as far as I am aware, so it could be a lot of fun to experiment with.
Fuzz & Bypass
Then there is the fuzz side and a selective momentary octave up plus a bypass option, which gives users even more options to play with. The use of a custom soft-touch optical footswitch system that can withstand 10,000,000 stamps, makes this bypass feature a solid option for players and adds to the versatility of this unique effect pedal.
LEDs & Modes
Two LED lights allow the user to see options like standard and selectable analog octave-up fuzz, momentary octave fuzz, and momentary bypass. These modes are where this pedal shines and it manages to combine a lot of effects with a relatively simple user interface. Those three modes at a glance are standard fuzz and selectable analog octave-up fuzz (orange), momentary octave fuzz (green), and momentary bypass (cyan).
Then there is the standard division Octapulse tremolo with a momentary control (magenta) and a custom division Octapulse tremolo (white) and here users can tap subdivisions as required.
The Tone control offers high or low pass filters. The rest of the controls are fairly self-explanatory and include, Volume, Fuzz, and Mix.
External Control
An expression pedal input allows control of the Rate of the Octapulse tremolo /vibrato effect. It also doubles as a remote switch for the tap tempo

The pedal is available now as a pre-order with shipping mid January 2024 expected.
