Studio Deals
Because you’re always shifting and expanding your audio setup, it helps to have versatile tools like compact mixers and interfaces that allow you to go mobile when you need to. Let’s take a closer look at the offers currently available:
Soundcraft Notepad-8FX
Connecting a few synths and a drum machine together has never been easier than with the Soundcraft Notepad-8FX. This compact analogue mixer provides two channels with XLR combo inputs, 100 Hz high-pass filters, and EQs to correct or sweeten the sound.
Furthermore, there are three stereo channels, and a built-in USB audio interface, as well as a simple but flexible effects section where you can combine up to two of the three effects: chorus, delay, and reverb.
The effects return to the main bus at unity, which has its limitations. However, having an aux send on every channel, an aux send master control, and an additional monitor output makes the Notepad 8FX a great desktop mixer for a home studio.

Yamaha HS5
When space is limited, the Yamaha HS5 is an affordable monitoring solution that has a relatively neutral overall sound. This means the monitors will translate nicely onto other playback mediums without too much trouble.
The bi-amplified rear-ported design consists of a 5-inch woofer (45 W) and a 1-inch tweeter (25 W), and it’s equipped with room control and high-frequency trim features to optimize it for your setup.
Meanwhile, the rear panel provides ports for both XLR and TRS connectors. Overall, the HS5 is still an excellent monitor for the price and you can easily expand the system with the HS8S studio subwoofer.

SSL 611 EQ
The SSL 611 is a 4000 E series console-style EQ in the 500-series format. This flexible 4-band EQ module is great for tracking and mixing, providing two EQ characteristics for different applications.
The Black mode, based on the 242 EQ circuit, gives you a tighter, modern sound with 18 dB of boost or cut. Meanwhile, the Brown mode is based on the early 1980s console EQs and gives you a more relaxed 15 dB of boost or cut.
In addition, the midrange bands are equipped with variable Q, while the high and low frequency shelving filters both have bell modes for added versatility.

Neumann TLM 103
With its comparatively moderate price tag and similar capsule design, the Neumann TLM 103 has become the bedroom producer’s U87 in the modern music production era.
Like the U87, it captures high frequencies in a pleasing silky way and ensures that your vocals easily find their way to the front of the mix. Although the TLM 103 only offers a cardioid pickup pattern, this is all you need within the context of home recording for the most part.
Furthermore, the TLM 103 has an impressively low noise floor for a mic with an impedance rating of 50 ohms. This also means you can get good results plugged straight into the preamps of most audio interfaces.
- Get 12% off the Neumann TLM 103 now at $1,049

Goddamn! Living in Sweden I have to pay $200 VAT for that Babyface Pro FS. Insane. For a second there I thought they had lowered the price to the pre-2020 prices, but I was fooled by the VAT again.
