Suhr goes back to its 1984 roots with limited-edition Standard Legacy series
Suhr has just unveiled a new addition to its lineup, the limited-edition Standard Legacy series. These guitars are based on the original models from John Suhr’s first-ever guitar design. Let’s check ’em out!
Suhr limited-edition Standard Legacy
This limited edition run of the Standard Legacy is based on Suhr’s first flagship model from 1984, designed by John Suhr himself.
Colours
The model has an African Okoume body and a maple top, which has scraped body binding. It’s fitted with an Even Slim maple neck with a 10-14” compound radius and Indian rosewood fretboard, loaded with 22 heavy stainless steel frets and dot inlays.
It will come in Aged Cherry Burst, Suhr Burst, Black, Pelham Blue or Trans Caramel finishes. They all have a black-finished headstock, except for the colour-matched Pelham Blue version.
Hardware
You can opt for either a Gotoh trem and a 1.650” Tusq nut and Suhr locking tuners, or a Floyd Rose locking trem, with a locking nut. All hardware is gold across the various colour variations. The pickups are a set of EMG SAs in the neck and middle positions, plus an EMG 85 in the bridge position. These are controlled by a three-way selector switch and master volume and tone knobs.
Limited Edition
If these have you reaching for your wallet, you may want to get an order in sooner rather than later. As a limited edition, I’m sure they will be popular, especially to those who remember them from the first time around!
