Summer NAMM 2018: Epiphone Prizm Les Paul Tribute and Limited Dot Deluxe
A couple of brightly coloured stunners for the summer!
Epiphone is releasing a couple of brightly coloured, fresh-looking electric guitar models at Summer NAMM. If the build quality is as high as their recent releases, then we are all in for a bit of a treat this year.
Epiphone Prizm Les Paul Tribute
The new Epiphone Les Paul Tribute Prizm PLUS Outfit is a very brightly coloured Les Paul model that’s sure to stand out from the crowd.
This model has an AAA Flame Maple veneer top and comes loaded with a pair of good quality Gibson USA ’57 Classic humbuckers. The pickups are controlled via a Push/Pull Series Parallel switching system and Epiphone is using Mallory tone capacitors and Switchcraft electronics on this model. That will add to its appeal to many players, as cheap components often need to be upgraded.
You also get Grover locking machine heads in the price of these models. All these added extras add up and so expect to pay a little more for these new models. You may love or hate the colours, but you have to admit they stand out!

Epiphone Limited Edition Dot Deluxe
This time we get a flame veneer in either Aquamarine or Blueburst which, again, will certainly stand out, especially on this semi-hollow 335 style body. They come with Alnico Classic humbuckers and standard Grover Rotomatic machine heads this time and so I hope they are a bit cheaper than the Les Paul Tribute Prizm above.
They are a limited run and so will only be available for a short time. But at the time of writing we have no idea how many will actually be made and so if you want one, you may want to go inquire at your local store.
