Superbooth 2017: Eowave Quadrantid Swarm Synthesizer
Eowave are showing their forthcoming desktop swarm machine. Called the Quadrantid Swarm Synthesizer it’s a scattering of buttons, knobs and patch sockets on a kind of radar grid. Looks like so much fun.
Quadrantid Swarm Synthesizer
It contains a digital synthesizer voice with a percussive element. It can run through a 2-pole analogue filter and a spring reverb. For modulation there are 8 waveform possibilities. The 8 touch-plate keys at the bottom can be used as a keyboard or an 8 step sequencer. They describe the sound as exploring exquisite and unfamiliar timbres that range from subtle to outrageous, nebulous to shimmering. That sounds like the sort of thing I can get behind!
There’s currently no clue as to what the “Quad” bit is about or how it swarms exactly but the preview video below gives you some idea of the sonic potential. Hopefully, more details and images will emerge over the show.
