Superbooth 2018: Soulsby announces ATX Atmultitron synthesizer
Soulsby Synthesizers have announced that they have some exciting news about an “ATX Synthesizer range”. It will be a number of products covering keyboards, desktop, 19″ rack and Eurorack modules all based upon the Atmegatron sound chip. They’ll all be compatible and can share controllers and routing so that they can expand each other.
Atmultitron
The Atmultitron keyboard is something they’ve been working on for some time. It’s appeared in concept form at previous shows. This time it appears to be for real. It contains all the different “modules” that will become available in other forms of device. The whole thing will be broken down into different Eurorack modules. The centre of ATX world is the “Controller”, the three knobs of power, which comes integrated into the Atmegatron II and Atmultitron and offers control over the other parts of the system.
There’s a lot of talk of voice cards that change the nature of the synthesis or features of the system. And how the 8 voices route through the various devices. There appear to be filter sections, voice sections, effects and mixing sections. I’m still trying to get to the bottom of how it all works and what it all means. I’ll update when I know more.
