Superbooth 2021: Rides In The Storm reveals a flash flood of new modules
Rides In The Storm has a range of loopable envelopes, oscillators, mixers and attenuators all ready to show at Superbooth. The vibe is to offer high-quality, compact modules at affordable prices.
FEG & QEG
First up is the FEG loopable ADSR envelope neatly squeezed into a 4HP module. There’s a button for looping and a button for one-shot, a switch between short and long time zones and a manual trigger button. The company says it’s very exponential, snappy with rounded edges for a compressed “bonky” sound. We’ll have to take their word for it.
QEG is then a Quad version of FEG with an additional 16 trigger outputs, individual envelope outputs and a mix output. Four envelopes in a single module is a powerful feature set. The trigger outputs occur at the beginning of Attack, end of Attack, end of Sustain and end of Release. The mix output contains all the envelopes and is useful for multistage applications.
DOC
DOC is a discrete voltage-controlled oscillator with a wide frequency range and stable tuning. RITS say that it has an incredibly warm character with a good low end and superfast edges for best brilliance. You get Saw, Pulse and Triangle waves with pulse width modulation, linear and exponential FM in only 6HP.
XXM, NGM & QUA
XXM is a 2×4 or 1×8 mixer for audio or CV whereas NGM is a 2×5 passive mixer with active gain. QUA on the other hand is a neat quad attenuator.
Future modules
Rides In The Storm is just getting started and they have lots more modules lined up including more oscillators, LFOs, overdrive, ring modulation, filters and a sequencer.
You’ll find RITS on booth W285.
