Supro has unveiled the Montauk, a compact 1×10 combo amp that brings the legendary Supro sound to a more portable format.

Despite its small size, the Montauk 15-watt Class-A amp delivers exceptional tone thanks to its carefully designed layout and components. It features independent Gain and Master volume controls for precise tone shaping and Level, as well as Dwell controls for the tube-driven rich reverb.
It has a simple two-band EQ consisting of Bass and Treble controls, which still gives plenty of tonal variation. This amp offers many great tones, whether you’re aiming for a clean chime or a saturated overdrive.
10″ Speaker
A high-quality 10″ BD10 speaker featuring an oversized ceramic magnet and a special British cone ensures full-bodied articulation. This new combo’s all-tube design provides a warm, authentic tone that’s perfect for a variety of musical styles. Supro then chose this Celestion-made speaker to complement the amp’s design and voicing.
Line Outs
In addition to its impressive tonal capabilities, the Montauk offers versatility and convenience. Three Line outputs allow users to connect the amp to more extensive systems or recording equipment, and the tube-driven spring reverb provides a classic, adjustable effect.
For those seeking even more flexibility, the Montauk’s all-tube gain and reverb effects can be used as a standalone effects unit or as a direct recording preamp. Supro describes it as a “Swiss army knife for the studio and the stage.”
Verdict
Supro already makes some nice vintage-voiced small tube amps, like the Amulet. This latest Montauk model is more flexible in terms of use in the studio and live due to those line outputs, and the reverb also has a little more control than most amps on the market currently.
Overall, I think this new model will suit players looking for something classic that can be combined into much larger setups.
