Korg Minilogue XD: The Power of Logue
Never underestimate the mighty Korg Minilogue XD! This compact 4-voice synth offers a combination of analog synthesis and a versatile digital multi-engine oscillator. The latter allows you to load various oscillator models by Korg and many creative 3rd-party developers. This means that the sonic possibilities of the Minilogue XD are almost limitless and go far beyond the classic subtractive analog synthesis. The great-sounding 2-pole filter with a beefy drive circuit adds to the Minilogue’s powerful sound. Because it is so easy to use, it also makes a great synth for beginners!
Modulation is another stronghold of the Minilogue XD. In addition to an LFO and a pair of envelopes, you can use the polyphonic step sequencer as a modulation source. Recording automation is quick and easy. Moreover, the Minilogue XD offers a powerful built-in effects section with modulation effects, delay, and reverb.
The Korg Minilogue XD is on sale at Thomann* for $518 / £488 / €569.
Hammond M-solo: Most Portable Hammond Ever?
The new Hammond M-solo is the perfect organ for anyone who travels a lot. At under 4 kg / 8 lbs, it offers a velocity-sensitive 4-octave keyboard and the manufacturer’s state-of-the-art Modelled Tone Wheel 2 organ engine. Every detail of the legendary Hammond B-3 is precisely reproduced, including the small imperfections that make the organ sound great.
In addition to a B-3 emulation (with all the essential FX, of course), the tiny Hammond M-solo offers simulations of three different transistor organs from Vox, Farfisa, and Ace-tone. It’s also got a string section based on string machine synths from the 70s. And there’s even a polyphonic synth.
Thanks to its compact size and sonic variety, the Hammond M-solo is also great as a second keyboard to place on top of your stage piano. The perfect solution for any gigging keyboard player who needs to play organ once in a while!
The Hammond M-solo is now on sale at Thomann* for just $1099 / £1025 / €1199.
