SynthFest France due to kick off this weekend
With legends like Jean Michel Jarre promoting it, you know that this weekend’s SynthFest France 2022 will be a synth-packed and exciting show.
SynthFest France
The French festival of synthesizers is always eclectic and slightly mysterious but probably only because I don’t speak French. Digging around in some of the marketing leading up to the show I think I might have found some interesting things to look out for. But first, let’s hear from the man himself.

Indeed.
The festival takes place at Theatre ONYX in Saint-Herblain from the 1st to the 3rd of April 2022 and tickets are €5. Here are some of the highlights.
Plural Modular Synthesizer
This is an application for creating modular synthesizers from a wide variety of modules. It looks very different but has an enormous amount of potential.

Kodamo Infini
From the people who brought us the EssenseFM hybrid synthesizer comes a new synth filled with formats, virtual analogue, FM and Kodamo’s own form of synthesis called Bitmasks. Apparently, it also has super filters. It looks like most of the action will take place on the large display.

Loumavox
A strange synthesizer wrapped up in a fictitious tale of adventure, discovery and sonic awakenings. There was some kind of story set around the Loumavox that told of how students found an old synth from the 1960s and set about trying to find Louise and Marc Vokzinski who were the alleged creators. The videos unfold into a fascinating documentary on the world of electronic music.
Anyway, the legendary synth in the story will be at SynthFest France.

Pylobolus – The Cloud Synthesizer
An innovative concept where the synthesizer exists in your browser but then you can also play live without a computer. I have no idea how that works. I’m assuming there’s some hardware involved that is edited on your computer or something like that but the current information is not very clear. Pylobolus is apparently three polyphonic synthesizers in “a single box”. Hopefully all will be revealed.

Performances and demos
There’s a whole roster of performances and product demos scheduled for the weekend in the Club, the main theatre venue and live streaming on YouTube. Most of the main manufacturers will be there with all their latest gear but there will also be vintage and legendary synthesizers to see and potentially play with.
Looks like an exciting weekend.

Looks like you/readers missed – on the Kodamo image – the extra note between B & C… 🙂
real or tease or april’s fool ?
it must be the well known “shroeder’s note”, that can be either a B, or a C, or none, or both, at the same time 🙂
it’s certainly weird
Hey Robin, I did my research on other French forums and apparently it is just a design mistake someone made in the pre-production rendering software … they say it had been corrected since. so , it wsill be regular keyboard :-)… no shroeder’s notes… lol
