The Lurssen EQ is based on the sought-after 825, a passive stereo tube mastering EQ from Esoteric Audio Research. With a stellar reputation among mastering engineers, the 825 is adored for the musical way it imparts warmth, character, and colour onto a mix.
In collaboration with mastering engineers, Gavin Lurssen and Reuben Cohen, IK Multimedia has created the Lurssen EQ to deliver the same irresistibly smooth contours that capture the same degree of nuance and detail as the esteemed hardware unit. The careful attention paid to every aspect of the recreation process means there are some great features to fine-tune your sound.
In the preamp section, for example, there is a color control that allows you to add different levels of harmonic saturation. With this feature, you have the freedom to enrich digital-sounding tracks with analogue harmonics or opt for a cleaner more transparent sound. Meanwhile, there is the added power of mid-side processing, so you can hone in on specific areas of the track.
