TC Electronic has just revealed the new Ditto 2 looper pedal, which adds new features to their popular, affordable looping range.

The Ditto 2 builds on TC Electronics‘ original affordable looping pedal, the Ditto. They claim this new version 2 unit is smoother and offers a more responsive looping experience.
New Footswitch
The redesigned footswitch is now larger and boasts what they describe as a satisfying magnetic mechanism, ensuring precise and reliable operation whether wearing boots or playing barefoot.
New LED
Featuring a new, vibrant LED display with a diffused glow, you’ll get crystal-clear visual feedback. Whether on a dark stage or at home, the LED keeps your loop status instantly visible, making looping more intuitive.
User Profile
Using a toggle switch, you can easily switch between the original Ditto looping mode and a new User profile. The User profile opens up new looping possibilities with LoopSnap and SingleTap modes, which are fully customisable through a dedicated smartphone app.
LoopSnap & SingleTap
LoopSnap is designed to make your loops tighter by intelligently tracking the beat and correcting any timing mistakes you might make when starting or stopping your loop.
SingleTap mode offers a straightforward record-play-delete experience, controlled entirely with single footswitch taps for simple, quick looping. If you prefer the classic Ditto experience, the original Ditto profile is still available and now includes a handy restore loop feature.
The three-way toggle switch on the side of the pedal allows users to choose from Pair (used to connect Bluetooth), User, and Ditto. Connecting to the smartphone app is easy, thanks to Bluetooth and USB-C connectivity.
Using the dedicated smartphone app, users can update their profile settings, adjust product settings, and update their device with the latest firmware.
As with the previous incarnation the one knob on the front controls the Loop Level, so it is a relatively simple user interface. Users can also opt for global buffered or true bypass operation to sit nicely in all pedal setups.
Verdict
Overall, it is a significant update to this already affordable and well-featured looping pedal. The larger footswitch is a welcome update, and the new features should make this looper much more usable and certainly more flexible.
