TC Electronic Skysurfer Mini Reverb: A compact yet full sounding digital reverb
Now even smaller and still with three great reverb algorithms
TC Electronic has just unveiled its new Skysurfer Mini Reverb pedal. It brings the full spring, plate and hall reverb of the original Skysurfer Reverb into a neat new smaller package.
TC Electronic Skysurfer Mini Reverb
With three reverb types to choose from, the new TC Electronic Skysurfer Mini Reverb will give your tone plenty of space, without filling your pedalboard. This digital reverb effect comes with three algorithms; Spring, which emulates the sound of a reverb tank, Plate based on classic studio reverbs, and Hall, which gives you a nice organic sounding reverb, with varying room sizes on offer.
Simple Controls
The control layout is super simple. There’s a three-way mini-toggle switch that lets you choose the reverb type. You can tweak the reverb using the Reverb, Mix and Tone controls. The Reverb and Mix controls let you set the amount of reverb required and how much of it is in your mix. The Tone control lets you add a little extra sparkle in the top end. This last control could be super useful, as it will help dial those reverbs in so that they sit just how you want them to.
Pedalboard Friendly
With top-mounted jacks and a true-bypass footswitch, the new Skysurfer Mini Reverb is pedalboard-friendly and should fit easily into most rigs without any fuss. It runs from a standard 9V DC, centre-negative power supply and only requires 100 mA. Overall, the new compact form factor looks really well laid-out and could be a nice addition for players with limited pedalboard space.
You can hear the pedal in the official demo video below.
