The Apple iMac M4 ushers in the new AI Era
The M4-powered iMac has arrived, but is it studio-ready?
With the new generation Apple iMac M4, performance is enhanced with an upgraded Neural Engine and a personal intelligence system.
Even though we stand solidly in the era of laptops and mobile devices, the iMac remains symbolic to Apple fanatics worldwide. The latest M4-powered iMac now comes in a range of seven different colours, with a 24-inch 4.5K retina display.

With four configurations available, the entry-level 8-core CPU/8-core GPU model starts at just $1,299 with 16 GB unified memory (24 GB optional) and 256 GB of SSD storage (512GB / 1TB optional), with optional ethernet.
Meanwhile, the remaining three 10-core CPU/10-core GPU configurations allow the nano-texture glass display option with up to 32 GB unified memory and four Thunderbolt 4 ports as opposed to 2.
Although the pricing looks attractive on the base-spec model, a fully spec’d iMac M4 will set you back nearly $3000, which is pricey for a machine that is somewhere in between an entertainment machine and a workstation.
If you are looking for a desktop, the iMac is still an impressive option for the price. That being said, it still doesn’t scream “workhorse” the way that some of the larger iMacs (27-inch) of yesteryear did. Should we be waiting for an iMac Pro, or will we be waiting in vain like Bob Marley?
Pricing and Availability:
All four Apple iMac M4 configurations are currently available for pre-order, arriving in early November.
