The Audio-Technica AT2040USB is a new dynamic USB mic for creators
With the new Audio-Technica AT2040USB dynamic microphone, you get the broadcast audio quality of the AT2040 with the simplicity of a USB mic.
If you’re a content creator, streamer, or podcaster, this is an excellent entry-level solution with essential features such as direct monitoring and a headphones output.
Audio-Technica AT2040USB
Unlike many of the USB microphones you’ll find on the market, the AT2040USB is a dynamic mic design. This means it performs far better in noisy environments and has been specifically designed for the frequency range of the human voice.
In addition, its hypercardioid pattern provides excellent off-axis cancellation. So if you’re recording in a tight space, any reflections from the walls pose far less of a problem than you might experience from a condenser mic.
The mic has been designed with an integrated multi-layered windscreen fashioned from fabric and foam that provides effective reduction of plosives and sibilance commonly experienced with speech recording.
In use, the integrated interface gives you up to 24-bit 96 kHz recording, and the neatly positioned mute button makes it convenient when you need to quickly cut the audio out of your stream.
The mic is also equipped with a high-pass filter, which takes care of any bumps or other low-end rumblings you might run into while recording.
