The Best DJ Accessories
The best gear covers, gig bags, DJ furniture and more.
Because a DJ cannot live on gear alone, here are the best DJ accessories for your rigs and gigs.
The Best DJ Accessories
We spend a lot of time talking about DJ gear like controllers, turntables and mixers on Gearnews. But a DJ needs more than just these things to get by. They need DJ accessories too. Sure, if you never leave the studio, you might be able to get by without a gig bag or flight case, but what fun is that? And even if you do consider yourself an indoor DJ, there’s furniture to consider, and stands.
With that in mind, today I’d like to talk about DJ accessories, the things you may not think about until you need them. A lot of them are model-specific too, so if you don’t see one here that will work for you, follow this link to Thomann* and do a search there.
Now, the best DJ accessories for all kinds of DJs.
The Best DJ Accessories: Decksaver Covers
Decksaver is a name you’ve probably seen before. The company makes gear-specific covers. They’re lightweight and affordable. They also protect your expensive equipment from dust. Dust may not seem like that big a deal, but if you’ve ever dealt with scratchy pots, that’s dust getting inside and interfering with electrical connections. Too much of that and you’ll need to replace your knobs. No fun.

Decksavers are also transparent, ideal because if you’re like me, you like looking at your gear. It’s just inspiring to be near it, right? Truly one of the best DJ accessories you can get.
Here I’m recommending Decksaver covers for three popular products: Denton DJ Prime Go/Go+, Pioneer DJ CDJ-3000 and Allen & Heath Xone:96. But they make so many, they probably have one for your specific needs.

The Best DJ Accessories: Gig Bags
My next recommendation for DJ accessories is gig bags. Whether you’re just bringing your headphones and a USB or full-on controller, there’s something for every DJ out there.

Magma’s RIOT DJ-Backpack is suitable for 15.4” laptops, laptop stands, and even smaller controllers like the Ableton Push or Native Instruments Maschine. There’s plenty of interior space, with pockets and compartments. It’s durable and waterproof.
If you need something with a little more capacity, try the UDG Ultimate Backpack Trolley B/O. It can hold a Pioneer DJ CDJ-3000 or Ableton Push 3, and can fit a laptop with a screen up to 18.4”. You can carry it on your back or turn it into a trolley.
Lastly, NI Traktor users will want this Native Instruments Traktor Kontrol Modular Bag, which accepts the Traktor Kontrol X1 MK3, X1 MK2, F1 or Z1. It features four rubber feet and fleece inside to resist scratches.

The Best DJ Accessories: Gear Cases
Bags are great when they remain in your control, but if you’re checking items into a plane or throwing them into the back of a bus or truck for a tour, you’re going to want a gear case.

Flyht Pro’s HSC Hard Shell Case XL is affordable and durable, with a nylon exterior and foam and velvet interior. This is the XL version but Flyht Pro makes cases like this in a variety of sizes.
If you’re the owner of a pair of Technics 1200s, you know how precious they are. If you’re taking them on the road, you NEED heavy-duty cases. I recommend the Thon Case Technics 1200/1210, which works with both the silver 1200 and black 1210.
Have something to transport but can’t find the case that you need? Check out the Thomann Case Factory, which will make a bespoke case for you.

The Best DJ Accessories: DJ Tables
When you’re just starting out, you might be content to set up your DJ gear on an old table or desk. But at some point, you’re going to want to get something a little nicer. That’s why a purpose-made table is a great DJ accessory.

The Thon DJ Table 1500 works with the standard two turntables and a mixer – but I’ll bet it could also handle CDJs or even a controller with room to spare. Available in black, white and oak colors, it’s even got a cable feed to tuck wires out of the way.
If you’re a mobile DJ, you need a table with a cover, and preferably one that’s foldable. Roadworx DJ Table Black Shelf is the one for you. Not only does it fold up for easy transport and storage, it’s also got a second shelf for holding additional gear (or even a sandwich or two).
Laptop DJs, I haven’t forgotten you. The Millenium DJ Table has a laptop stand built in and is height adjustable.

The Best DJ Accessories: Stands
Speaking of laptop stands, here are three of varying price and style. They’re great for holding drum machines and small keyboards too.

The Millenium Laptop Stand is basic but gets the job done, with an adjustable height and great price.
The LTS 01 B stand from Gravity takes it up a notch, with an extra, smaller shelf below the main one. It’ll hold gear 12” to 17” wide and features variable inclination of the shelf and foot.
The last of the DJ accessories to recommend is the K&M 12150. Free-standing, it’s perfect if you want your laptop stand separate from your DJ rig. It can hold up to 10kg and features a separate mouse tray.
