The Electro-Harmonix Pitch Fork+ Polyphonic Pitch Shift is here at last
After being leaked last week on some US dealer sites, the Electro-Harmonix Pitch Fork+ has now officially been released. And this little pedal certainly packs a punch.
Electro-Harmonix Pitch Fork+ Polyphonic Pitch Shift
With the new Pitch Fork+, Electro-Harmonix may just have made the best modern-day pitch-shifter/harmony pedal. The pedal has +/-3 octaves of pitch-shifting, polyphonic pitch-shifting at that, with a detune range of +/-99 cents, so it can cover a lot of bases.
Multiple Outs
Both the Shift voices and the Dry signal have separate volume controls, and the two outputs labelled Main and Aux have multiple routing options, making the unit flexible and able to handle complex setups. It comes with 10 factory presets and you can save/recall 100 programs of your choice.
Modes
The eight Modes available include X-MOD, for FM and ring mod-type effects, and LATCH, which is based on the original Pitch Fork, but with an enhanced Momentary mode function.
Pedal Power
The Bypass footswitch chooses between the effect on or a buffered bypass, or when in Latch mode, will switch between effect and bypass mode. However, in Momentary mode, the effect is on when the switch is held down, and bypassed when released. The User footswitch can be programmed and assigned to muting either of the Shift voices, or going to a preset program. A handy status LED lets you know what is going on.
It has an EXP input for EXP or CV control for parameters in three sub-menus, Frequency, Glissando, and Volume. You can also connect an external foot controller to go between the various modes, enter/exit sub-menus, or load presets. What you get when you put all these functions together, is one seriously versatile polyphonic pitch-shifter.
The EHX Pitch Fork+ comes with its own EHX 9.6DC200mA power supply, and you can finally hear it in action in the official demo video below.
