The Ibanez TS9 Tube Screamer celebrates its 40th Anniversary in metallic red!
None more red!
The Ibanez 40th Anniversary TS9 Tube Screamer pedal comes in a very bright red colour, instead of the green that has almost become synonymous with it. But it won’t be around forever, as it is a limited run of the hallowed overdrive.
Ibanez 40th Anniversary TS9 Tube Screamer
Yes, it has been around for four decades, and now you can get the Ibanez 40th Anniversary TS9 Tube Screamer in this limited run metallic red finish. The pedal is pretty much exactly the same as the regular version, just in a different colour and a 40th Anniversary label, which means it will probably appeal to collectors. It may possibly go up in value, once the run has ended, so keep the box if you want o make a few quid via the usual auction sites.
Classic Overdrive Tones
The Made In Japan stompbox has controls for Drive, Tone and Level, which is all you really need for a TS-style overdrive, and it runs from either a battery or a standard power supply. There isn’t much more to say about the TS9 circuit, we all know it, some love it, others loathe it. But I expect, you won’t need me to explain how it works and what it does.
Not Green
The Ibanez TS9 is a pretty nice overdrive circuit all round, and if you collect limited runs of pedals, or if you just love red stompboxes, well then this crimson coloured stompbox could be for you. Ibanez has done this before with the 40th Anniversary TS808 which came in a sparkly red in 2019. Those pedals have since risen in price on the collectors market and auction sites. I have a feeling these could do a similar thing, as collectors love limited runs of colours with pedals.
