The new Old Blood Noise Endeavors Sunlight Dynamic Reverb is not your regular reverb
A new out-there freeze reverb from OBNE
The Sunlight Dynamic Freeze Reverb is Old Blood Noise Endeavors’ latest release. The effect is a dynamic reverb with an additive hold function, which allows you to freeze a note and hold it. This means you can get pretty creative with this little box.
OBNE Sunlight Dynamic ‘Freeze’ Reverb
The new Sunlight Dynamic ‘Freeze’ Reverb from Old Blood Noise Endeavors features three brand new reverb algorithms, each with the ability to freeze the reverb trails when you stop playing, allowing you to get some pretty unique effects. As you would expect with OBNE, it is a pretty odd reverb effect that’s perfect for experimenting with!
Controls
The Input knob adjusts the overall dynamic sensitivity, and the Decay knob controls the reverb feedback. The latter can be used to create enveloping infinite reverbs.
You then have three modes: Tape, Comb, and Pass, accessible via the mini-toggle switch. These can be used to apply wobble, vibrato, stacked resonant delays, or random step filtering to each of the three reverbs. The Rate and Depth controls are specific to each mode. Finally, there’s a standard reverb Mix control.
Expression Control
The Sunlight also has an external Expression control, which you can use with a standard external expression pedal. This allows you to adjust the Input, Decay, Rate, and Depth parameters on the fly. The Alt footswitch lets you quickly snap to a particular knob setting, which should make for some interesting effects.
The pedal itself has soft-touch switching and true relay bypass, so it won’t mess with your tone when not engaged. According to the specs, you’ll need a minimum of 80mA 9VDC centre negative power supply to run it.
This is not a regular reverb pedal and I would suggest that you listen to the demo videos below to get an idea of what to expect from this freeze reverb effect.
RRP – EUR 219
