The PRS SE One was released nearly 12 years ago and became a firm favourite around the world. Now it’s back for a short limited run in Europe – be quick if you want one!
PRS SE One
The SE One is a single cut design loaded with a lone P90 pickup in the bridge position. To be fair, that is all it needs. I can vouch for that, as I owned one myself for many years. OK, so in fairness I have to explain that I modded the hell out of it. But that was part of the charm of this simple little guitar. At one point I even added a Bigsby trem – which almost doubled its weight!

Limited Run
Now PRS Europe has announced a limited run if this P90-loaded instrument in both Tobacco Sunburst and Vintage Amber finishes. This model has a PRS Adjustable wraparound bridge and set of PRS tuners. The main body and neck wood used is Korina, which is a departure from the original model, which was mainly mahogany. The fretboard is rosewood.

Pure P90 bliss
These single pickup guitars are super versatile and have bags of great tones in them, I gigged mine hard for a few years and it never let me down. Those SP-SOAP-TNC P-90 pickups and single volume control are deceptive in their simplicity – they’re actually great for dialling in all manner of tones!
As with recent PRS limited runs, these instruments are only available in Europe and it looks like it could be a short run as well. So if you fancy owning one of these great little guitars, you’ll probably need to get in quickly as I am sure they will sell out soon.
I kind of want one of the Vintage Amber ones, my old one was red and I always wanted a yellow one…
