The Supro Blues King 10 gives you 5 Watts, Fat and plenty of trimmings
New Class A all-tube combo with plenty of features
Supro has just been in touch to tell us about their new all-tube combo, the Blues King 10. Fitted with a 10-inch speaker, the Blues King 10 model slots into its existing range between the existing 12″ and 8″ versions.
10″ Tone
Supro believes the Blues King range – and its 12″/15W and 8″/1W models – isn’t giving us enough choice. So it’s developed a third version of the same design with 5 Watts and a 10″ speaker. The Supro Blues King 10 is a Class A amp with an on-board spring reverb, a switchable FET boost and a built in Fat Drive circuit.
That means that this little combo should pack some serious punch despite its diminutive combo format. The preamp stage has a single 12AX7 tube, while the power section uses one 6V6. The overall direction here is clearly classic vintage amp tones, so don’t expect any high-gain shenanigans here. It should be well suited for classic rock and blues styles.
Fat Drive
The built-in Fat Drive mode uses a CMOS tube emulator circuit to give you extra gain when required. Elsewhere this little combo is a pretty standard affair with a 2-band EQ, the reverb and a master volume. However, you do also get a footswitchable Boost and Drive section, which adds flexibility. You can also engage these from switches on the top of the control panel as well. An FX loop and Line output are included, too.

Supro Blues King 10
The Supro Blues King 10 combo is loaded with a single custom Supro BK10 speaker and this should, in theory, provide a nice tight sound for this little combo. You can check out this new amp in the demo videos below. I think the price is reasonable for such a well specified tube amp and it could be great for both home and also studio use. I’m a fan of low-wattage tube amps, so this little combo appeals to me a lot.
RRP – USD 499
