Thomann’s “The Music Never Stops” Virtual Festival now streaming online
With so many gigs and festivals cancelled due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, it’s always good to hear about various successful online festivals and virtual music events. On 27 August German online retailer Thomann hosted its very own virtual festival, “The Music Never Stops”. The festival included a competition with some great prizes, awarded to bands picked from a huge array of entries from around the world. The entire film of the online event is now available on YouTube – so hook up your PA system to your computer, grab a cold one and sit back to enjoy some great live music!
The Music Never Stops
Thomann’s Music Never Stops competition offered 8 bands or performers a slot at its festival plus a €1000 voucher to spend in its online store. Little wonder, then, that the organisers received over 1000 submissions! Given the wealth of talent on display here, we’re happy not to have had the terrible responsibility of deciding on the winners.
To the winners, the spoils! Congratulations from everyone at Gearnews.com to The AnyOne (Slovienia), Fran Minney (UK), Balthvs (Columbia), Connor Shafran (Germany), Mike Ruby (Canada), Ana Carla Maza (Cuba/Spain), Dreamroot (USA) and Vertigaux (Schweden). One thing we really like is the richly diverse selection of great performers and musical styles.
You can stream the whole festival below. A great idea that, we think, needs to be repeated at the earliest possible opportunity! If you have a moment, head over here to give these great musicians some love on their social media accounts, we’re sure they’ll appreciate it.
Enjoy!
