Two new modelling amps from Harley Benton: HB-20MFX and HB-40MFX
With five amp models and five multi-effects each
Harley Benton HB-20MFX and HB-40MFX
These new Harley Benton HB-40MFX and HB-20MFX combos include five amp models and five multi-effects. It is an ideal solution for anyone that needs a good core guitar tone, but without the fuss of a lot of gear.
The amps come in two versions, 40 Watts and 20 Watts respectively, which means that you could use them for practise or, if you need to jam with a bit more power, go for the higher wattage version. The 20 Watt model comes with 1×8” full-range speaker, while the 40 Watt model has a 1×10″ full-range speaker.
Amps, Effects and Backing Tracks
The five amp models cover cleans, dynamic, crunch and lead sounds, as well as two full-on rock overdrive tones called OD1 and OD2. The five built-in effects include reverb, delay, chorus, phaser and modulations, which should cover all your basics. I like that all the effect settings are directly accessible from the amps. You also get Bluetooth connectivity, so you can playback your backing tracks from a smartphone. Another useful feature is the onboard digital guitar tuner with multicoloured LED display.
The headphone out will come in handy for when you need to do some silent practising, making it a great little amp for around the home, or office. Finally, you have an AUX line input, for when you want to play along with backing tracks without using Bluetooth.
At these prices, I think there really is nothing to complain about with these two new amps. Both have some useful features and cover all the basics you would need from a practise amp.
