Vox Clubman 60 Nutube combo aimed at hollow bodied guitars
Powered by Nutube technology
The Vox Clubman 60 Nutube amp is aimed at hollow-bodied guitars. Providing two channels in a portable combo format, each with its own distinctive voice. Could this be the perfect companion for your semi-hollow or hollow-bodied electric guitar?
Vox Clubman 60
Vox has announced the new Clubman 60 and as I mentioned in the introduction it is powered by their Nutube technology. This lightweight, compact combo could be perfect for many applications and comes with two channels, each with its own dedicated input.
Two Inputs
Channel One has a high headroom, perfect for clean tones and gives a hi-fi sound. It has its own dedicated three-band EQ and aims to avoid any clipping, to keep your tones clean.
Whereas Channel Two has more drive, it has a two-band bass/treble EQ and a switchable overdrive circuit, for more traditional guitar tones. The combo uses an 8” speaker and tweeter configuration perfect for these two types of guitar tones.
Studio Amp?
Both channels have reverb and chorus, with both effects available together if required. The official demo video below offers up some quite convincing tones and I could see this amp being great for in-the-studio and home use as well.
It also has a line out which lends itself to studio work, or perhaps for sending to a PA system for gigs. As it has a cab simulation on that output, I can see it working well in both situations. Plus, being so lightweight at 4.6kg, compact and portable, it makes it appealing to working guitarists.
Other key features include an Aux in and a headphone out.
I quite like that Vox has aimed this at a specific style of guitar. And I think this could be a great amp to have around if you need the versatility that it offers.

I’m sorry Vox, but why so many combos with 8″ speakers?
