Vox has revived its classic ’60s “Teardrop” body shape for 2022. The Mark III Mini model comes in a much smaller package than you are used to. Originally announced back during NAMM 2021, these Teardrops have now finally landed!

Vox 2022 Mark III Mini

After 12 months of waiting, the Vox Mark III Mini has been officially released at last, so those tears took a long time to cry out! That is a considerable period, for what is essentially, a very small guitar. But, at least they are available now.

Three Colours

The new guitars come with two single-coil pickups wired up via master volume and tone knobs, and a three-way pickup selector switch. At launch, there are three colours available: Aqua Green, Lipstick Red and Marble. Although, I’m not sure who the target audience for these guitars are? Mini-Hippies? Who knows? But, they do look cute. And you can pretend you are Brian Jones whilst strumming yours in front of the mirror.

Mini Teardrops

They have a 476mm scale length and feature a lightweight terentang body with a bolt-on maple neck, a purple heart fretboard, and 19 medium jumbo frets. Unfortunately, Vox hasn’t given a lot of information with regards to the pickups. The price includes a gig bag and basic tools.

RRP – GBP 199

With nothing else in the pictures for scale, it’s impossible to visualise how ‘mini’ the Mark III Mini is!
