Walrus Audio Jupiter Fuzz V2: Dead astronauts and dying batteries
With a new Astronaut graphic and upgraded internals
Walrus Audio’s new Jupiter Fuzz V2 is a revamp of their Jupiter pedal, which sports a rather nice new paint job for the V2 edition. There’s also been a redesign of some of the internal components, too, resulting in an expanded feature set.

The new graphic depicts a lost astronaut and uses a coal sparkle finish with a burnt orange and cream ink, which is paired with brushed aluminium knobs. It looks like something from the old Planet Of The Apes films with Charlton Heston!
The pedal has been reworked, hence the V2 status. Essentially, Walrus Audio have upgraded the potentiometers and added some more gain to the circuit. There’s also a new internal Gate control, which allows it to simulate that ‘dying battery’ sound.
Improved sweep
With a better sweep on the Volume Control to help achieve Unity Gain and the tone control having an improved higher frequency response, those upgraded potentiometers look on paper as though they will make a decent impact on the circuit.
If you like fuzz (like me, yes, I’m an addict) then the chances are you will like this new Jupiter V2 circuit. My only personal gripe is I am really not a fan of internal trim pots, as I like to fiddle without having to dig out my screwdriver!
