Walrus Audio takes Monument Harmonic Tap Tremolo to V2
Walrus Audio has announced a new V2 of its Monument Harmonic Tap Tremolo. It’s an upgraded version of the original pedal released back in 2017.
This new updated and upgraded version of the Monument Harmonic Tap Tremolo V2 shoe-horns the effect into a smaller pedalboard-friendly format. But it also adds new features. I wrote about the original version back in 2017 and liked it then, so hopefully, this new V2 version will be even better. Plus, the price appears to have dropped by USD 50. Nice!
Side Jack Control
So what’s new in V2? For one thing, the new side jack input supports external tempo. You can also use it as an input for expression control over Rate, Depth, Shape or Tap Multiplier functions on the pedal. Walrus Audio says on its site that you can choose these ‘on the fly’. which gives the pedal some handy ways of manipulating parameters easily when used live, which is always a bonus.
The Monument V2, Walrus Audio says, has a much better tremolo response across all rates compared to the original version from 2017. That sounds good, but as I haven’t had the opportunity to try either version, I cannot really say how this new one compares. I’ll take the company’s word for it.
Finally, the new version of the Monument has top mounted jacks, which makes it easier to fit on to an already crowded pedalboard. This is generally a good thing and one most pedal junkies, like myself, prefer. It lets us get more effects onto a tight rig!
You can check the full specifications on the new Monument Harmonic Tap Tremolo V2 on Walrus Audio’s website and hear it in action via the official video demonstration below.
