Wavetable Editor comes to Novation Peak and Summit synthesizers
From the awesome internal synth fiddling app Components Novation has added wavetable editing and uploading for their Peak and Summit synthesizers.
Wavetables
Novation’s Peak and Summit synthesizers combine digitally controlled Oxford oscillators with an analogue signal chain and filters. Along with the traditional waveforms each oscillator has 43 wavetables of 5 waveforms per row making for some nice hybrid sounds. Now they’ve opened up the wavetable oscillators to some new content via their Components browser-based editor.
The new Wavetable Editor lets you draw your own wave shapes and audition them in real-time. Or you can import audio files or wavetables to be used as the oscillator waveform. Along with the ability to generate your own wavetables Novation has included a bunch of space-themed audio from the NASA sound library: “Get inspired and expand your sound design possibilities by generating waveforms from recordings of human space exploration and otherworldly environments.” And there’s exclusive wavetable content from producers Noisia.
The Wavetable Editor is free to use, just connect your synth and head to the Components webpage. Make sure you pick up the latest firmware for your Peak or Summit first.
