Control your Kemper with a phone using Rig Manager iOS app
Kemper Profiler OS 8.7 update adds iPhone and iPad control
The Rig Manager iOS app means you can control your Kemper Profiler wirelessly. First, you will need a compatible Apple iPhone or iPad. Pair this with the latest Profiler OS 8.7 update on your Kemper and off you go.
Profiler Rig Manager iOS app
The Kemper Profiler was featured on my recent list of the Top 10 Tube Amp Alternatives. Wireless functionality undoubtedly has benefits. Making this new update a welcome addition to the list of features.
Rig Manager paired with the latest Kemper Profiler OS 8.7 update allows users to control their Profiler head and rack units wirelessly. Meaning you can use the touch screen on your Apple iPhone or iPad to tweak settings and store your Profiler rigs.
Touch Screen Control
Rig Manager allows users to store up to five rigs in each Performance slot on their Kemper. Touch screens are obviously very user friendly. Therefore I can see this being popular with Kemper users. Making it a great tool for many players. Plus, you can also tweak your effects settings on the fly or adjust your rig to taste.
WiFi Connectivity
This new app will connect to your Profiler either directly using the built-in wi-fi chip, or you can connect via a WPS wifi network and router setup instead.
Android?
Admittedly, you will need a compatible iOS device to use this new functionality. However, we could potentially see this wireless control adapted for Android in the future. For now, Apple users can download the new app here.
To summarise, this looks really useful and simple to use. For this reason, I think it is a good move on Kempers part. I’m also hoping we see it evolve over time. Ideally adding new features, and hopefully, it will branch out to other smartphones and tablet systems, including Android in the future.
