Zoom MS50G+ Guitar Multi-Effects: Updated for 2023
Crammed with 100 effects and presets
The Zoom MS50G+ Guitar Multi-Effects is an updated version of their MS50G pedal and now it offers even more. With a hundred effects onboard, plus 100 presets and stereo outputs and six effects at a time.
Zoom MS50G+
Today Zoom announced the MS50G+ and it updates its predecessor and drags it kicking and screaming into 2023.
The predecessor, the Zoom MS-50G, has enjoyed great popularity as a compact and affordable multi-effect since its release over ten years ago. Although not necessarily famous for the most realistic sound and the most detailed emulations. It did cram a lot into one compact stompbox.
Six Effects
Users can combine up to six effects simultaneously in a single preset, and for better navigation on dim stages, the display lights up in different colours, depending on the effect category. Making this updated version easier to get around.
Control
The Zoom MS-50G+ has four black pads for setting and changing the presets, two each for changing the preset and two for changing the bank. There is also a footswitch for tap tempo in the middle of these pads.
Four control knobs allow users to change effect parameters, and the layout will be familiar to anyone that has used the previous version of the pedal.
Handy Guitar Lab
According to Zoom, there will “soon” be a Handy Guitar Lab iOS app for loading, saving, and managing the presets.
There are a total of 100 preset storage locations, 85 with manufacturer presets and 15 for user presets. The pedal covers all the basic effects, including Drives, Modulations, Delays, Reverbs, Compressors, Filters, and Special Effects.
Plus, there is a built-in tuner function so it could easily work as a standalone pedal if you need to travel light.
Price
On the connection side, there is a USB-C port on the top side, in addition to a 9-volt power connection. The Zoom MS-50G+ will also run on two AA batteries. The MS-50G+ also has a mono jack input and stereo jack output.
