Zynaptiq BALANCE
Rather than giving you a traditional parametric EQ interface, BALANCE is an input-dependent processor with a limited selection of controls that you can use to determine the conditions for tonal processing.
While this would sound like a pretentious gimmick from any other plugin developer, Zynaptiq has a knack for implementing outlandish algorithms into one-knob interfaces. If you don’t believe me, just try their INTENSITY plugin.
The BALANCE workflow is incredibly simple. You start by setting your frequency rand with your high-pass and low-pass filters, then select the Spectrum Tracking mode from the three available options.
Now, you can use the four main functions to set your EQ. These include Gain, Target Slope, Target Weighting, and Target Air. Meanwhile, the main EQ Amount control determines the extremity of the processing applied globally.
Although there isn’t that much info about how exactly the processing works or sounds, I’m still excited to get my claws on BALANCE to find out for myself.
This intuitive approach could be an amazing tool to use on your drum bus, synths, or vocal groups, and features like the wet gain control (which is scaled according to the EQ amount dialed in) makes the plugin a very flexible tool.

Zynaptiq Balance runs as VST3, AU and AAX on macOS (10.15 or later) and Windows (10 or later). A free iLok account is required for licensing. A free trial version is available here.
