Strymon has just revealed their new BigSky MX dual reverb powered by an 800 MHz ARM processor and with new algorithms, Impulse Response compatibility, and more.
BigSky MX
The BigSky MX is the new flagship reverb pedal from Strymon. It now sports a large OLED screen and is powered by an 800 MHz ARM processor. Strymon’s new reverb algorithms have taken the effect even further into realism and have also managed to incorporate impulse response compatibility.
It has dual engines and features a new set of reverbs, which allow users to route independently in Series, Parallel, or Split modes.
The Reverb Algorithms include Room, Hall, Plate, Spring, Bloom, Cloud, Chorale, Shimmer, Magneto, Nonlinear, Impulse, and Chamber.
Infinite and Freeze
The pedal now comes with a dedicated Infinite/Freeze footswitch and the bank up/down footswitches. It has basic controls for Decay, Pre-Delay, Tone, Mod, Param 1, Param 2 and Mix, a rotary Value encoder and a rotary switch for choosing one of the 12 reverb algorithms.
USB-C
This new version also features MIDI control like the previous version and comes with SB-C, TRS, or DIN connectivity. It has stereo inputs and outputs, so it will easily work in multiple situations.

Verdict
This new dual-engine reverb pedal has a lot going on, and it may be perfect for some players, especially in a studio environment and for more complex stereo live rigs. The new reverbs sound very nice, and the demo videos make it sound very capable.
I own the original BigSky and probably only use a small fraction of its capabilities, but for power users, this new BigSky MX will be a welcome update.
