NAMM 2023: What new gear are you looking forward to?
With the NAMM 2023 show just around the corner, we’re itching to see which brands have new gear to be revealed for the first time.
NAMM will be running from April 13-16 at the Anaheim Convention Center, Anaheim, California.
If you’re unfamiliar with the event, NAMM is a trade conference that has brought together manufacturers, professionals, and equipment dealers in the music, audio, and events sectors for over 100 years.
Last year we saw some exciting new instruments demoed and launched, including:
- Neve 88M audio interface
- Oberheim OB-X8 polyphonic synthesizer
- Focal Solo6 studio monitors
- SSL BUS+ advanced stereo compressor
- Adam Audio A7V studio monitors
- Austrian Audio OC16 Studio Set condenser microphone
- Dangerous Music 2-BUS-XT summing mixer
- Flock Audio Patch XT digital patchbay
What could we see at NAMM 2023?
There haven’t been that many new products launched so far this year. So, will this mean manufacturers be using NAMM as a launching pad once again? We certainly hope so!
The first on the list is the Focusrite Group. The Scarlett series is long overdue for an update, so we could see a new line of the famous red interfaces launched and it could coincide with some tasty new music production gear from Novation.
Now that Universal Audio‘s UAD plug-in range has gone native, will we see a new range of high-end audio interfaces without DSP? It’s been a while since we saw a new Apollo, while the Volt series has been making waves on the budget end of the market.
Audient has also been busy lately, so could we be seeing more studio gear from them?
What are your theories and which products are you hoping to see launched? Please let us know in the comments below!

I’ve heard rumors that we might see new products, or updates from Digitech.
One of the latter would be fantastic on his Trio + band pedal, I don’t understand how more competitors have not come up with this fantastic idea.
Yeah looking forward to an affordable version of a Bad Monkey myself!
Korg Wevestate-se 61 keys
I’m hoping for a 61 note polyAT keyboard controller with a Fatar action like the Waldorf Quantum MKII has.
Maybe Arturia or Novation will release something like this?
AKAI could update the old MPK261 as well.
I’d like to see some new 4/6/8 in audio interfacez from apogee. A reasonably priced 49 key analogue synth with usb midi capabilitiez.
A new Electribe from korg maybe?
this year it would be great if someone could finally hook Uli behringer up with those chips
Volca Wave, Volca Grains, new Squier models, a modeling amp from IK Multimedia, interesting and affordable digital synths with 16+ voice polyphony.
My prediction is new Universal Audio Apollos which will work with an iPad Pro version of Luna.
I would hope for a new bus powered RME interface. Sonehow I never got warm with the form factor of Babyface, but I don’t need the amount of In- and Outputs the UCX has. Four inputs/four outputs would be plenty for me
I would be most thrilled if Korg would present an all-in-one Wavestate/Opsix/Modwave based on the Wavestate SE concept and original Opsix leak design. This could actually as well be merged with a real new successor to the Kronos.
New AKAI MPC models. New midrange synth from Moog based on the software developed for Moog One. New Arturia keyboard controllers like the Keystep 37 but with full size keys. Fender electric 12 strings. Gibson L5, ES330, and something along the lines of the ES125/235. Roland ACB tech makes a come back. New Roland edrums post their merger. Sequential Pro4. Logic X update.
Will we see Roland / DW unveil their long awaited DWE kit?
I hope for new information about AN-X technology by Yamaha. For example, the implementation of this technology as a virtual analog engine as part of a next firmware for my Yamaha MODX6+ synthesizer…
Mini Kemper Stage ?????
I’d like to see a 73 waterfall key controller with Aftertouch & Release Velocity. Drawbars would be a bonus
One can dream
Since its’ announcement on June 16, 2022, I have eagerly awaited the new Gibson U.S.-built Steinberger guitar. But Gibson is not even attending the namm show so…
Maybe Roland will be testing the waters to see if there is any interest in analog synths – only to realize that they missed the boat by 13 years ?
